What Makes Me Happy Collaboration & Link up

November 29, 2016

Hey everyone! I hope all my blogging friends in the US had a good Thanksgiving last week, we sure did. Unlike other Thanksgiving years past this one was actually low key. Normally we have like 4 or more Thanksgiving gatherings it seems but this year just 3 (with my family, in-laws and church). The outfit in this post was actually worn on Thanksgiving day to two of those Thanksgiving gatherings. This made for the perfect low-key and comfortable look that just makes me feel happy. Today I have teamed up with two other bloggers to share with you our “Happy Outfits”  to share a few things in life that make us happy, including what we wear and why. I also included at the end of the post a few quotes from a few other bloggers that contributed from this post here on what makes them feel happy or confident.

Like I mentioned above I feel happy in this outfit. I bought these leggings from Lularoe consultants Amy and Shannon and they are the MOST COMFORTABLE leggings I have ever owned and were definitely worth the money. In fact I have a hard time snatching up anymore leggings from these ladies as their inventory gets sold out within a hot minute. Thank God I am hosting an online party for them next week to get some more (let me know if you want an invite), but I digress.

These leggings make me happy and host my four favorite colors, blue, pink, black and white. The colorful patterns they are arranged in and the mere fact that these are so comfortable just send me in a happy coma. Because these leggings are so busy and bold I made sure to keep the rest of the outfit neutral. The added scarf balances out the look creating eye movement from head to toe versus stares at just the leggings.

Coming away from the happy leggings I also feel my best when I can straighten my hair (and play with it too, as you may notice in every photo, sorry). I have naturally curly hair so lately I like to take more time to straighten it as it does heighten the excitement for dressing up. As a mom my go-to outfits for fall and winter are normally jeans, leggings and wearing the said colors that I mentioned above so this look is right up my alley and makes me feel confident.

Outfit details: Leggings: Lularoe (from Amy and Shannons VIP group)//Boots: c/o Marmi, similar//Tunic: Pink Blush Boutique, similar//Scarf: gift, similar//Pink bracelet: J.Crew, similar//Bangles:Charlotte Russe, similar set//Charm bracelet: c/o Lucies Locket, similar.

Now on to what other bloggers have said makes them happy ( or confident), from this post:

“Girls nights, date nights and outings with my daughter make me happy too!”

-Jill of Doused in Pink

“I feel more confident when I dress for success!”

-Becky of Bybmg

“For me, feeling happy and confident has a lot to do with how I am thinking about my life and my circumstances. For instance, when I am looking at my body with love and thankfulness, I am more focused on what I have or what I like about myself than areas that I don’t like. Another example is the way I look at my husband or my circumstances. Am I looking for the good? for the reasons to be thankful? Or am I focusing on/thinking about the things that are difficult, uncomfortable, or unpleasant?
Changing my perspective always makes me feel happier and more confident about myself and my life. (And I’m always a better wife when I’m happy and confident!;)”

-Casey of Cattails, Rabbit Trails and Thistlefish

“Working out each day makes me happy, and helps me keep sane!”

I LOVE those leggings on you! You’re so cute…”happy coma” haha! Your hair looks so pretty curly but I also like it straight. My hair is naturally wavy/curly, too! Thank you for inviting me to co-host with you this week! Having blogger friends makes me happy, too!

Isn’t it interesting how the material of the LulaRoe leggings just make us squeal in delight? I just bought 2 pairs this weekend—I figured that was supporting small business on Saturday!!
I love straightening my hair too—it makes me feel more put together. Do you use an iron, or just blow it dry?

  • amy November 29, 2016 at 9:25 am

This is the first Thanksgiving outfit in Blogland that I saw that is actually practical. I can’t tell you how many “What to Wear For Thanksgiving” posts that I’ve seen where the outfits included ponchos, bell sleeves, formal wear, etc. I started to wonder if I was the only person in Blogland who actually cooked a Thanksgiving meal and everyone else got to just show up and enjoy it. I wore sweatpants and a tee shirt for Thanksgiving…because I was hot from cooking in a hot kitchen all day and I didn’t want to get nice clothes dirty. I also didn’t want everyone to wait to eat while I changed clothes after the meal was made.

I have heard of this brand, I think… A mom I was talking to at school had some cute leggings on and her 8 year old daughter did, too. I think she said they were Lularoe if I am remembering correctly. This looks like such a perfect Thanksgiving outfit, so cozy yet stylish!
