Trusting in God through trials

June 8, 2015

Many of you don’t follow me on my personal Facebook and some of you do, but to fill you in my little ones and I were rear ended in one of our vans this past Friday and while we were fine I did get some pain in my lower back (got it checked medically and prescribed meds) but we are sure we lost our van. Luckily for us, the wreck was not our fault and we await the other drivers insurance claims and settlements. We thank many of you who knew for your prayers. Now on to what God has been showing me.

With the wreck there have been other little things in our home that haven’t been working right or have broke, on top of that we are trying to pay our regular bills and save extra money for vacation coming in August. While it is tempting to throw in the towel, through all of this I have been learning that all I can do is lean on God and trust in Him to provide for our needs and trust in His future blessings.  Through these trials God has just shown me more and more how real He truly is and how He DOES take care of us.

I learned recently that the Lord has allowed certain situations to happen so that we might grow. If we were to stay happy and in peace all the time, getting everything without trials we wouldn’t grow. Trials are meant to teach us to depend on Him and to grow.

Are you in a place of trial right now? What have you been going through? I have good news and that is God knows your trial and isn’t going to just pass you by. He cares for you and needs you to trust in Him. For those of you who might be reading this and say you don’t believe in Jesus Christ, God, Our Lord, then would you believe that He believes in you and hates to see you suffer? He didn’t cause the trial but rather he wants to see how you will react to it and He is right there with open arms when you need Him most.

Here are some scriptures to encourage you:

May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob protect you! Psalm 20:1

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Prov. 3:5&6

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. Psalm 37:5

Thanks for reading today, I hope your week is blessed!

First off, glad you are okay! Secondly, I think we are all going through some kind of trial or another. When I look back on my biggest trials and thought all hope was lost, I see God’ hand throughout the whole thing. It couldn’t have been possible without him. A few years ago, I lost my job a month before our wedding. We paid for our entire wedding ourselves so this was very stressful. We had also just gotten an apartment. Even with a Bachelor’s degree and applying to over 100 jobs, not even Walmart would hire me. I couldn’t understand. 6 months later, I got a job substitute teaching and I feel like I have been able to help a lot of kids that are struggling at this time in their life. I have been through a lot in my past and I feel that God put me there to help them go through similar situations. Through all of my trials, I have learned how to be patient and how to have faith. Everything always works out 🙂
