Today I am 31! Wow! I was thinking on Sunday that being 30 was probably the best age for me yet, however I am hopeful that this new age and ones to come will be even better.
I choose to celebrate my Birthday with this lovely eyelet detailed baby blue dress I got on clearance at Target for $7. ( I wore another blue eyelet dress for my 30th Birthday as well, what can I say I love blue). The fit, detail, color and price are perfect for this 31 year old mama and so I couldn’t wait to share it with you.
I wore this outfit to church and to a baby shower for a baby girl (ironically and I am in blue HA) and can’t wait to wear it out with my hubby on my Birthday dinner date (tomorrow). WAHOO! Now if I can only make up my mind on where I want to eat that would be a miracle.
I want to end this post with 31 things I have learned over the years:
). Just because somebody doesn’t talk to you much like they used to doesn’t mean they dislike you
). Trust in God to provide
). Cleaning a house filled with kids is like shoveling snow while it is still snowing
). Sometimes the things we pray for come in ways we never expected
). It’s ok to ask for help, or provide people with ways to help
). Leave the judging to God
). Drink warm lemon water each day & lots of water for the matter
). It’s ok to spoil ourselves (women/moms) every once in awhile
). Shop (wish a purpose and budget)
). Pray specifically for something and often or almost always it happens in God’s timing
). Tithe 10% or more of any income
). You don’t have to be friends with everyone
). If you can’t say anything nice, then don’t say it at all
). Learn your boundaries
). Stick to what you are good at
). Be the change you want to see (a recent thing in my life)
). Write thank you notes often
). Love your husband and pray and respect him often
). Celebrate and acknowlege the littlest successes
). Support local businesses or businesses of friends
). Love and cherish the moments you have with your children no matter what stage and age in life they are in
). 2 Timothy 1:7- “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind.”
). Forgive others
). “My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness…” 2 Corinthians 12:9
). Realize your strengths and use those for God
). “Worrying solves nothing. It doesn’t change the past, nor determine the future”-my hubby (Chantry Garay)
). Wear something or a color that makes you feel confident to be confident
). Don’t refer to children or people with special needs as “retarded” or “down syndrome child (man or woman)” or “handicap” instead refer to them as a person first then the need such as “a person with Down Syndome” etc.
). Pray on all occasions and no matter where you are at
). When God promises you something or a blessing be on guard as you draw near to that blessing or promise as this is when the enemy comes to try to steal that blessing from your life. Pray again on all occasions and no matter what stage of life you are at.
). Enjoy each age as it comes
