How to dress up a Nicole Dress with Lularoe

August 8, 2016

dressed-up-Lularoe-Nicole-dress-red

I am fortunate to recently get my hands on my first dresses from Lularoe and I am hooked (I am not a consultant, but I know one and she is the sweetest but you will learn more a bit later). I love how the dresses I currently received (Ana dress to be shown tomorrow) shape my figure well without me worrying about my big love handles or hips showing up. I feel confident in these clothes and they feel like excellent quality and are made in the US. SCORE in my book.  The dress featured today is a red Nicole dress that I am in love with, and it can be dressed up or down with ease. Today I want to dress it up and share a feminine look with you, perfect for swooning your man or for parties, weddings, etc.

Striped tee collaboration & link up

striped-tee-Target-Vneck-collaboration

Happy Tuesday! Todays link up and post is a treat as I am joining my longtime blogging buddy Becky for a styling collaboration. Becky and I both discovered we owned the same striped tee from our “$10 at Target” posts (see mine and hers) and so I knew right away that a collaboration was in store. Continue Reading

Being a mom, The Shoes & Collaboration

May 6, 2016

Michael-Kors-flats-purse-blue-white-striped-top

Being a mother is an awesome experience. All of my life I dreamed of being a teacher, writer and mom. While I got all three I realize I may not be the best at each but I sure can make the most of each while I can. For example, I use to be a full time teacher now stay-at-home mom that teaches preschool at church and substitute teaches elementary schools. I wrote two novels in my middle school thru high school years, now this blog. Then I am a mom. A mom to four lovely little kiddos.

New eShakti loves & a gift for ALL my readers!

June 8, 2015

I was in Target a few weeks back shopping for my Birthday dress with my husband and decided to try my first ever romper on  and I was met with a big Disappointment with a capital “D.” The fit was wrong, and didn’t define my curves the way I would have liked it to and the cotton material actually appeared cheap. Rewind to months before that and I tried on several jumpsuits in another store and felt my legs were too short for the long leg hems that nearly hid my feet and could have caused an accident just walking in the one piece suit. I decided early on that finding the perfect romper or jumpsuit were going to be hard for this short, curvy body of mine.

This past weekend though I was excited when eShakti contacted me for another collaboration and what do you know I learn that they are selling Contemporary and Bohemian thematic products such as rompers, shorts, jumpsuits and even pants. From a site that I deemed dress and skirt worthy I was amazed to find that they broadened their clothing categories. For those of you that know of eShakti you are probably as surprised and as thrilled as I am but to those of you that don’t know of eShakti then let me fill you in a bit. eShakti is a online clothing store that designs their clothes but the customer customizes it. That is right, you, the reader and potential customer can choose for a dress to have a certain neckline, sleeve length or bottom hem length.

eShakti also allows for standard ordering (or set sizes) on products listed or have customized according to body size and measurements. While glancing at the shorts, rompers, and jumpsuits I am seeing quite a good selection that I believe other stores or online boutiques don’t offer and that is the passage to customizing and sizing clothing to a true fit. I know with these customizable features I am going to have a clearer mind when shopping and know I will be receiving quality clothing to fit my size and tastes. Below are some of my choices that will be going to my cart.
CL0032845P

I just adore this chambray denim jumpsuit and love how the sleeves and pants length can be customized according to preference as well as customized in body size via customer measurements. Remember how I had a hard time finding a jumpsuit to fit my small height, not anymore with these customizable options.

CL0035249MP

I love this romper for its almost dress effect. You can even select the leg length and sleeve length as well, this will be great as you read above I was disappointed with my first romper try on at Target.

That is not all, eShakti also sells cute culottes and scalloped shorts that are customizable like the ones I favor below. After you view these images I have a gift card code for you.  CL0035925MP

View this culotte jumpsuit here.

CL0035730MP

Scalloped white shorts

CL0036231MP

Shorts with pompoms

Are you loving yet what you see? These are some of this summers hottest trends that you can customize to fit you, so what are you waiting for? eShakti was kind enough to offer all of you a $35 gift card with my special giftcard code: TREASURES35   Valid till 06/21/2015
Enter this code in the ‘Gift Coupon / Referral Code’ box at checkout
Only one gift coupon can be used in an order. Not valid on previous purchases / purchase of gift cards.
This gift coupon cannot be transferred, re-issued or exchanged for cash.

Once again what are you waiting for? and what would you pick to order?

Thanks for reading!

*This post is sponsored by eShakti. A store credit was issued to me for my time and review of their site. I love this store (from shopping experience) and believe in their quality clothing; However, while the images come from their site all other opinions are my own.

Perfect Blouse featuring Mint Julep + Mint Julep GIVEAWAY

May 4, 2015

mintshirt1
I believe I have on the Perfect with a capital P blouse. This lovely “sea foam” colored blouse came from one of my favorite stores The Mint Julep Boutique.

mintshirt2

You may have seen me style many things from The Mint Julep in the past like here, here and here and even these popular heels I wear all the time are from this lovely boutique. When The Mint Julep reached out to me about a collaboration I was THRILLED and of course I gave them a yes. This lovely blouse titled Double Dose (buy here) was exactly what I had been looking for as it has a touch portofino to it but is just versatile enough to go with anything. I love how it slims my curvy figure a bit, and it even came from the curvy section of the site. The one I am wearing is a 1x since I have a bigger bust area and I wasn’t sure if a large would fit. If you have a fuller figure and like to hide or even show off your curves then I recommend this boutique for their lovely selection. If you are not curvy they of course have sizes for everyone from S-3x. * To clarify, the little wet spot on my blouse was from my drink I carried on the track, not a stain.

mintshirt3
I styled this blouse with my favorite white skinny jeans and sandals. I am just in love with this look and the button up or down quarter length sleeves. The shirt fits like a glove and I couldn’t be happier. I wore this outfit on Saturday to get my hair cut (it’s layered and had a few inches cut off) kids birthday party and then out to dinner and a train track walk with my hubby as a date night.

My hubby volunteered for a “His Look” photo shoot. This is his first outfit appearance for you ladies.   We talked about and were inspired by Kelsey and Jake Bang of kelseybang.com during this little his and her photo shoot.

Of course he had to do it his way:

In the end, I love how our outfits compliment each other. All in all it was the perfect date night, wearing the perfect blouse for perfect photos with the perfect (in my eyes) man to share it with.

Rocksbox jewelry reveal + FREE Rocksbox for anyone

April 20, 2015

As a jewelry fanatic and fashion blogger I have been contemplating a jewelry service called Rocksbox for quite some time now but couldn’t quite get up the nerve to sign up. I kept putting it off until last week when I was contacted to collaborate with Rocksbox and so receive several items of jewelry to share with you as well as offer you a surprise at the end of this post. I am sure you are dying to see what I received and my thoughts on the items selected and my overall first (and not last) experience.
IMG_1124
First of all let me explain what Rocksbox is all about. Rocksbox is a jewelry subscription service that lets anyone subscribe for $19 a month to receive 3 jewelry items in a box to wear and have on loan for one month. The subscriber can wear any item for that month and opt to buy whatever is most loved or liked and with a $10 credit bonus for an item bought. The subscriber can choose to subscribe for one month, or as many as desired or even discontinue after the first month.

Before subscription takes place the shopper becomes a “Shine Insider” or a special customer that allows the shopper to create a wishlist based on a survey of suggested jewelry items they might wear. The survey is about 5 minutes long or less and it gathers what kinds of jewelry would best be desired (rings, bracelets, earrings, necklaces or all) and by brands (offered), and style. What I liked about this survey was the outfit suggestions for certain pieces of jewelry, as well as offer suggestions for what certain jewelry items were best with certain occasions (like concerts, date, casual, etc). I went with more date night selected pieces since I knew this was when I would most likely wear this monthly set.

I selected my favorite pieces of jewelry to add to my wishlist (most of them Kendra Scott, since I love the brand) and then I checked out and right away I was sent several confirmation e-mails stating that my wishlist was being looked at and reviewed by a stylist, then I was e-mailed to let me know a stylish had been chosen (Cheryl) and my items and then down to the final your items are being sent. I kid you not two days after that final e-mail my Rocksbox was in my mailbox and RIGHT before date night to a formal dinner. I tell you God couldn’t have given me a more perfect timing or set of lovely goodies to test out. Here is what I was sent and the price range and my personal thoughts.

IMG_1125

As you can see by the images above I was sent two Kendra Scott items and a lovely Perry Street necklace. I got a personalized welcome card along with names, brands and prices of the items and a short survey asking for my thoughts (love it, like it, dislike to circle). I was also sent a $10 credit to use on this months purchase. Scroll down to see the reveal of these pieces.

IMG_1128

Here are the selected items sent to me.

IMG_1129

These Kendra Scott “Lee Gold Earrings in Iridescent Drusy” were very lovely when i first saw them as they sparkle with a glittering effect. I am normally use to bigger earrings from Kendra Scott so I was surprised to see how dainty these were. I think these were my favorite from the set. The price for these with Rocksbox is $60 and while I have a $10 credit to use this month only towards one or more items I probably won’t purchase these as I really would prefer to purchase a Kendra Scott Rayne necklace in this same color and style (we shall see in my next months Rocksbox).

IMG_1131

This lovely gold, crystal inlaid necklace is from Perry Street and is called the “Maddie” Crystal Necklace and while I specifically choose this item on my survey I was surprised at how close it resembled a necklace I just recently bought from another boutique. It was easy to put on and got lots of compliments.  While this was a lovely necklace and I enjoyed wearing it on date night with the above earrings I don’t feel I need two necklaces that look a lot alike. The price on this necklace from Rocksbox is $60.

IMG_1130

This bracelet is called “Jana” in turquoise by Kendra Scott. I admit I haven’t worn this with any outfits or out and about yet but I do love the color of it and how it looks on my wrist. When I pulled it out of the bag I thought it looked smaller than actuality. While I love wearing any color blue this bracelet is hard to put on alone and would require extra time figuring it out or I would need my husband to help me put it on. My honest opinion though was that I just didn’t think the bracelet went with the necklace and earrings received and I didn’t know what I could pair it with from my already owned jewelry so while I love Kendra Scott and would love to own a bracelet in this brand this one wasn’t going to work so I will return it. The price of this “Jana” is $64 with Rocksbox.

Thanks for taking the time to look at and review my reveal, maybe you saw something you liked and would love to receive in your own Rocksbox. Now for the free offer I promised you. Rocksbox wants to give ALL my readers a FREE month jewelry subscription (normally $19 a month to subscribe) sent to you with the code garaytreasuresxoxo, with no obligation to continue it after a month. YEAH!!!! That is $200 worth of jewelry you get in the mail, for FREE to see if you like  and return some or all of it if not at the companies expenses, and you get a $10 gift card automatically to use towards an item or all if you decide you like what you got in the mail based on a wish list you had made with the company before hand. So I think you should definitely check it out and sign up here. Once you have signed up don’t forget to let me know what you got and kept or didn’t. I can’t wait to hear from you!

Check out Rocksbox and take their survey and see what kind of jewelry you gravitate to or would like. I can’t wait to show you how I styled this jewelry in Wednesdays post. Remember to come back by tomorrow for “Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me” link up.

*This post was in collaboration with Rocksbox. I received this box of jewelry on loan in exchange for a review, however all opinions are my own and not that of Rocksbox.

Style Collaboration: Fedora Hat and Leather Cuff bracelet + GIVEAWAY

March 16, 2015

fedorastylecollacollage1
Happy Monday! I am excited to be collaborating again with blogger and new blogging friend Grace of Colorandgrace.com on how we styled our white fedora hats and leather cuff bracelets.

I love how Grace incorporated her white fedora and leather cuff with spring colors and florals. Her look is polished enough for wearing to work but fun enough to wear out and about perhaps on a fun lunch date or shopping date. I just love how Grace incorporated other bracelets from charmed bracelets to other cuffed bracelets (from My Arm Charms) with her leather cuff.  Grace has styled her fedora and leather cuff in other ways as well but you will just have to check those out on her blog here.

I choose to style my white fedora with a striped black and white dress I got on super clearance back on Black Friday along with black flats and cardigan. My “Rock Star” blue leather cuff bracelet from My Arm Charms was added to the outfit along with a long chained necklace with bead hints in the same blue color. I wanted a casual look that day but something fun enough to wear to a baby shower which I attended that day in this outfit.
IMG_0250
IMG_0216A baby shower was not the only shower happening that day. Rain showers and rain dances occurred towards the end of this photo shoot.

Today in celebration of this style collaboration with Grace, I have partnered up with My Arm Charms and Grace to giveaway this same blue leather “Rock Star” cuff you see gracing my arm today. I just love this cuff for it’s color and added charm. At first I thought the cuff wouldn’t fit my style but I was charmed other wise, it is just too cute. It snaps by snaps around the wrist and feels so comfortable. If you can’t wait to see if you won this bracelet (which is $14.99) then I encourage you to sign up for My Arm Charms e-mails so that you can receive offers, discounts and sometimes monthly giveaway news. When you subscribe to the e-mailing list you also receive $10 off a order subtotal of $30 minimum with a code. Now you can’t beat that and ALL the bracelets and watches are affordable. This giveaway is open until midnight March 30 and is open to participants with a US mailing address only. The more entries you complete the more points you will be able to receive. Please enter in the rafflecopter box below. Thank you and Goodluck!!!

Get charmed

IMG_0128
Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a good weekend! Ours was extremely busy, like one thing to the next and no stopping. My hubby and I were able to plan a date afternoon through evening of going and looking for furniture. Since my hubby and I met we haven’t bought much furniture (well accept our bedroom set 4 years ago, bookshelf and a few $1 lamps) but we have had people donate furniture to us when they have moved and wanted newer sets or people have just wanted to bless us with second hand or thrifted furniture. We ended up buying everything on a super discount or outlet and this includes  a new sectional couch, 8 bin organizer shelf and 6 chair dining room set. On top of that we had placed an order for carpeting through our house and await the estimate for that job and carpet to go down next month. Then with moving the newer sets in and older sets out and cleaning behind the older sets it has been a process, but we are in LOVE with our new sets and can’t wait to get our carpet in. With all the busy-ness I did get some time in to shop at my favorite stores (Marshalls, Target and TJ Maxx) and scored some much needed items for spring (more of those added items in the near future) as well as this lovely outfit shoot.

I was recently contacted by hands down one of the best women and entrepreneur I have had the pleasure to collaborate with and that is Leslie of My Arm Charms (a bracelet boutique for the fashionista with a hunger for loads of arm candy). I am so excited to work with this boutique and to present to you some lovely arm charms that is not only affordable but chic and what’s better the site (here) has something listed for everyone and every style desired.

IMG_0137
These two bracelets I am wearing here have been worn numerous times since receiving them but my favorite items to wear them with are brown and with this mustard cardigan. These are so versatile that they would go with just about any item you own. The “Gems” bracelet (seen here) is a stretchy gold beaded bracelet that goes on like a glove and sets perfectly without moving up or down the wrist. At first the beads or gold links seemed a bit itchy but I think this was because I am not use to a bracelet with a whole bunch of links and beads to it but there were no link imprints or any further uncomfortableness when worn for hours several days in a row.
The silver bracelet with gold roman numerals is probably a new personal favorite and opens on the side and clamps down shut when placed on. (view here).

IMG_0116

I paired these bracelets with a similar gold toned thin bangle bracelet and a layered necklace in the same metal tones for a fun metal mixing statement.

Style Collaboration: Faux Fur Vest

March 5, 2015

fauxfurvestcollabToday I am excited to bring back another style collaboration post (see my holiday wear collaboration here, and mustard cardigan one here), this time with Grace of colorandgrace.com and we will be showing you how we styled our white faux fur vests for the spring weather coming.

_DSC2378

I have known Grace for only a short period of time but I had originally started following her on Instagram but liked her style so much I just had to follow her blog and things have been great since. Grace blogs on outfits and her past travels and adventures everyday (even on the weekends). This girl is dedicated to her blog, fashion and her readers.

Today she has styled a great street or work wear outfit appropriate for spring. Although her vest has a touch of black at the bottom I just love how she incorporates little touches of black in her heels as well.  I also love how she incorporates the trendy marsala (burgundy) color through her lovely pants, and chambray with just the right amount of sparkle through her accessories as well. To view more on her vest and meet her go here.
IMG_0005I choose to style my white faux fur vest with a vintage floral boho blouse of mine (I mean vintage shirt in that this thing has been in my wardrobe for almost 8 years or more, and I still wear it each season). I topped off the look with white cropped pants and blue suede flats.
IMG_0006
IMG_0009If you haven’t already read it before then you will know now. I LOVE wearing BLUE and will be incorporating more blue throughout my spring and summer wardrobe for sure, so of course this had to be a staple color with the vest, especially with spring around the corner.
IMG_0013The right amount of sparkle in the jewelry adds some fun and flirty elements to the vest, giving off an extra oomph of sparkle and light.
IMG_0015IMG_0019
IMG_0017Don’t you just love photo bombs- that cone just ruins these pictures. But my hubby who took these pictures didn’t factor in the obvious, haha! God rest his soul!

Ways I have worn this same vest before are here and here for the winter season.

Fun fact: I now own a Cannon Rebel T5 EOS 1200D DSLR camera (used to take these photos). My hubby and I saved money in an envelope for this very camera since before Christmas and I ended up getting a HUGE package deal off of amazon for this Camera, tripod, lenses, filters, mini-tripod, strap, carry bag and more for only less than $500 on sale- It WAS WORTH IT! Any tips you might have on how to use this intimidating camera would be helpful!

*In these collaborations I select bloggers that are interested or that I happen to want to work with based on similar wardrobe items and we make it work and feature each other and share our different styles. Let me know if you are interested in a future style collaboration in the comments below.

Outfit details- Faur fur vest: Xhilaration (via Target a few months back on clearance)//Floral blouse: Charlotte Russe (very old)//Cropped Pants: Style & Co (old)//Shoes: via Plato’s Closet//Necklace: The Mint Julep Boutique//Earrings: part of a set from The Sparkle Exchange (buy here)//Lipstick: Avon- Lovey Dovey pink
