I have never been a huge makeup or beauty person until recently as I have started adding to my makeup and beauty collection with samples or makeups on sale but there used to be a time when I was in middle school when I spent days with my aunt Joann, flipping through her Neiman Marcus catalogs and trying out her blushes and other creamy makeups. Occasionally she gave me designer samples to take home. These samples were not only tried occasionally, but they resulted in a good memory.
Now I can relive a part of that memory with getting samples of designer makeup in the mail, such as with So Choix.
So Choix (pronounced Schwaaa) is a new beauty and makeup start up company that delivers samples to your door from a high end product so you can try the product (perfume, nail polish or make up) to decide if the sample is a hit enough to want to buy the full product(s). High end brands such as Chanel, Tom Ford, Bobbi Brown and Burberry and many more are listed for sample on SO Choix. You can choose to subscribe and become a So Choix Elite Member and get 5 Luxury sample products monthly for $15 plus points or choose one sample each for $5 if you don’t want to subscribe monthly. You get brushes and applicators in your kits as well. If you decide you like the product you can purchase it off of So Choix.
My box came with 5 luxury items courtesy of So Choix and here are the items in my box and my thoughts:
Chanel Levres Scintillante Lip Gloss in Sonate color- This lipgloss is pretty in color but doesn’t glide on as easily, but it isn’t as liquidity as some lip glosses which is nice. For a normal price of $30 I don’t think it’s worth it.
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation in Warm Ivory- this foundation is nice in that it doesn’t leave a “dirty” effect unlike some drugstore foundations, but instead it looks like effortless foundation, which is something my husband and I have come to love and notice right away.
Burberry Warm Glow Bronzer- this is my first bronzer and I like it ALOT! I really do see a difference with this and the blush (see next), versus none at all.
Chanel Joues Contraste Bowder Blush in Rose Echrin- Like the Bronzer above, I like this blush alot. It really does help add some character to my cheeks and goes well with my skin tone, giving a more natural look.
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Eau De Parfum- to be honest I am not a big fan of this, but the smell does remind me of my Aunt Joann and flipping through a magazine, but otherwise I am not a fan but would be interested in sampling other Chanel perfumes.
Overall, the makeup samples I received left my face with a natural glow and touch perfect for summer day wear like in the photos above. I enjoy wearing the makeup often to church, date night and when seeing my friends. The sample bottles are still in use and I think I have worn the makeup four times now and still have some leftover, so I would say the samples last more than 5 applications, which I like.
What would you like to try from So Choix? Which high end makeup have you been dying to try?
*So Choix provided me a box of samples in exchange for a review but like always, all opinions are mine alone.
