As a jewelry fanatic and fashion blogger I have been contemplating a jewelry service called Rocksbox for quite some time now but couldn’t quite get up the nerve to sign up. I kept putting it off until last week when I was contacted to collaborate with Rocksbox and so receive several items of jewelry to share with you as well as offer you a surprise at the end of this post. I am sure you are dying to see what I received and my thoughts on the items selected and my overall first (and not last) experience.
First of all let me explain what Rocksbox is all about. Rocksbox is a jewelry subscription service that lets anyone subscribe for $19 a month to receive 3 jewelry items in a box to wear and have on loan for one month. The subscriber can wear any item for that month and opt to buy whatever is most loved or liked and with a $10 credit bonus for an item bought. The subscriber can choose to subscribe for one month, or as many as desired or even discontinue after the first month.
Before subscription takes place the shopper becomes a “Shine Insider” or a special customer that allows the shopper to create a wishlist based on a survey of suggested jewelry items they might wear. The survey is about 5 minutes long or less and it gathers what kinds of jewelry would best be desired (rings, bracelets, earrings, necklaces or all) and by brands (offered), and style. What I liked about this survey was the outfit suggestions for certain pieces of jewelry, as well as offer suggestions for what certain jewelry items were best with certain occasions (like concerts, date, casual, etc). I went with more date night selected pieces since I knew this was when I would most likely wear this monthly set.
I selected my favorite pieces of jewelry to add to my wishlist (most of them Kendra Scott, since I love the brand) and then I checked out and right away I was sent several confirmation e-mails stating that my wishlist was being looked at and reviewed by a stylist, then I was e-mailed to let me know a stylish had been chosen (Cheryl) and my items and then down to the final your items are being sent. I kid you not two days after that final e-mail my Rocksbox was in my mailbox and RIGHT before date night to a formal dinner. I tell you God couldn’t have given me a more perfect timing or set of lovely goodies to test out. Here is what I was sent and the price range and my personal thoughts.
As you can see by the images above I was sent two Kendra Scott items and a lovely Perry Street necklace. I got a personalized welcome card along with names, brands and prices of the items and a short survey asking for my thoughts (love it, like it, dislike to circle). I was also sent a $10 credit to use on this months purchase. Scroll down to see the reveal of these pieces.
Here are the selected items sent to me.
These Kendra Scott “Lee Gold Earrings in Iridescent Drusy” were very lovely when i first saw them as they sparkle with a glittering effect. I am normally use to bigger earrings from Kendra Scott so I was surprised to see how dainty these were. I think these were my favorite from the set. The price for these with Rocksbox is $60 and while I have a $10 credit to use this month only towards one or more items I probably won’t purchase these as I really would prefer to purchase a Kendra Scott Rayne necklace in this same color and style (we shall see in my next months Rocksbox).
This lovely gold, crystal inlaid necklace is from Perry Street and is called the “Maddie” Crystal Necklace and while I specifically choose this item on my survey I was surprised at how close it resembled a necklace I just recently bought from another boutique. It was easy to put on and got lots of compliments. While this was a lovely necklace and I enjoyed wearing it on date night with the above earrings I don’t feel I need two necklaces that look a lot alike. The price on this necklace from Rocksbox is $60.
This bracelet is called “Jana” in turquoise by Kendra Scott. I admit I haven’t worn this with any outfits or out and about yet but I do love the color of it and how it looks on my wrist. When I pulled it out of the bag I thought it looked smaller than actuality. While I love wearing any color blue this bracelet is hard to put on alone and would require extra time figuring it out or I would need my husband to help me put it on. My honest opinion though was that I just didn’t think the bracelet went with the necklace and earrings received and I didn’t know what I could pair it with from my already owned jewelry so while I love Kendra Scott and would love to own a bracelet in this brand this one wasn’t going to work so I will return it. The price of this “Jana” is $64 with Rocksbox.
Thanks for taking the time to look at and review my reveal, maybe you saw something you liked and would love to receive in your own Rocksbox. Now for the free offer I promised you. Rocksbox wants to give ALL my readers a FREE month jewelry subscription (normally $19 a month to subscribe) sent to you with the code garaytreasuresxoxo, with no obligation to continue it after a month. YEAH!!!! That is $200 worth of jewelry you get in the mail, for FREE to see if you like and return some or all of it if not at the companies expenses, and you get a $10 gift card automatically to use towards an item or all if you decide you like what you got in the mail based on a wish list you had made with the company before hand. So I think you should definitely check it out and sign up here. Once you have signed up don’t forget to let me know what you got and kept or didn’t. I can’t wait to hear from you!
Check out Rocksbox and take their survey and see what kind of jewelry you gravitate to or would like. I can’t wait to show you how I styled this jewelry in Wednesdays post. Remember to come back by tomorrow for “Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me” link up.
*This post was in collaboration with Rocksbox. I received this box of jewelry on loan in exchange for a review, however all opinions are my own and not that of Rocksbox.
