Recap of 2015 in Blogging and Goals

December 30, 2015

WHOA! I cannot believe a New Year is just a few days away. Wow this year has flown by and its been a bittersweet one at that. My kids have definitely been keeping me busy, my hubby started a new job and I established several blogger and company collaborations so my plate is definitely not empty for sure. I must say this has been a year of learning to have grace on myself and try to just “breathe” and let things just be and be ok with that. I think I want this new year coming up to be one of a new attitude and better organization.

Today I thought I would share a few things that happened this year in blogging, so let’s dive in.

I bought my own web domain and went self-hosted from to and am not looking back. I am even having my web design and layout changed within the next month or two, so look for changes.

My hubby got me a Canon Rebel for my Birthday and he became my photographer for the blog whereas before he did some photos but I had a self-timer for a lot of my photos.

I established 3 months of collaborations with My Arm Charms and Rocksbox and enjoyed working with the talented ladies, and entrepreneurs of these establishments.

I started collaborating with several other fashionistas (Tiffany, Jill, Becky, Jaclyn and Glitter & Ruffles) for a monthly themed link-up called “How I Style It.”

I started having co-hosts for my weekly link up “Bloggers Who have Inspired Me” and this has helped tremendously (thank you to those who have co-hosted in the past, and some of you more than once. I am looking for more in February).

I hosted a weekly themed outfit blog hop with Ada and Maria this past Spring.

This blog started bringing in a couple hundred dollars each month various ways starting November 2015 (I will do a post on this eventually but don’t know where I want to start yet).

I went from a parenting, lifestyle and fashion blog to almost strictly fashion and lifestyle blog starting in fall of 2015, as most of my audience was fashion and lifestyle orientated.

I began working with several brands and can’t tell you a favorite. I love them all! See my posts and collaborative reviews here.

I started creating a few “How To Posts” mainly on blogging. (How to Host a Successful Link up, How to Stop Comparing Yourself to Other Bloggers, How to Increase your Followers on Bloglovin, How to make money to blog as a stay at home mom, How I Blog as a Mom of Four)

My style evolved and this was greatly attributed to comfort and lifestyle, my husbands style preference and many other bloggers that inspire me. (My style is defined here).

I registered my blog as an official business and got a EIN number (because of money coming in).

I had the privilege of creating blogging friendships with girls I can trust and whom I greatly admire and am inspired by.

Lastly, I learned that I am beautiful and confident in the Lord and should please Him above all else, not others (this can be a challenge on some days). I want this blog to show this, if not so much this year then next. I want to shine His light and be comfortable in the skin…I mean clothes He gave me and I strive to find out how to do just that with affordability and comfort in mind.

I am sure there are a lot of other good blogging ventures from the year, but the above were some great highlights I will remember.

Now for some goals for 2016 in Blogging:

Well, first of all you may want to check out my blogging goals for 2015. I am quite proud of myself as I met almost all of these goals so I went on and made some newer goals for 2015 in June and met alot of them except the ones dealing with Instagram and Bloglovin. For my Instagram goal I wanted 5,000 followers and for Bloglovin I wanted to meet the 1,000 follower mark but these didn’t happen and that is ok.

So what are my goals for 2016, I will list these below. Now realize that some of these may be unrealistic, but I believe with time and if God allows it things will happen so here we go:

  • To share my faith more
  • To have higher pageviews 10,000 plus and followers per month
  • To reach 5,000 plus followers on Instagram by June 2016
  • To reach 1,000 followers on Bloglovin by June 2016
  • Opportunities to work with same and new bloggers
  • Opportunities to work with same and new brands
  • Business opportunities for the blog
  • Work on establishing my style more
  • Bring in Mommy daughter outfit posts/ Father son posts
  • Bring in Hubby and Wife style posts (coming in a few weeks)

There you have it, a list of things I would like work on for the blog in the upcoming New Year. Feel free to e-mail me at if you have any collaboration ideas or questions and I will see how we can work together. Examples might be a style collaboration, brand collaboration, co-hosting “Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me”, anything.

Join me next Monday as I feature my worst outfits recap of this year, meaning outfits I now cringe at and then Tuesday I will feature my favorite outfits of 2015 along with 5 bloggers from the last “Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me” link up (here) and a link up. Wednesday will be another “How I Style It” link up and the theme is “Snow Boots” so please link up your snow boots posts.

These all sound like great goals for the blog! I came a long way in 2015, too. I need to start thinking of some 2016 goals, but I think a big one for me will be moving to WordPress.

Such a great year of blogging. I also loved collaborating with a ton of brands this year, upped my photography game & bought my domain! Another great part of blogging is being able to connect with so many fellow ladies/bloggers. It’s such a treat!
