How was your week, weekend? Mine was both stressful and nice. My two kids started their first week back at school and my son (now a preschooler) really enjoys his class. Already I am seeing an improvement with how he is learning nursery rhymes, talking about his day, and making friends. My seven year old had an easy week with no homework. While the kids had a good week back to school my week had it’s ups and downs and I brought it upon myself.
I realized Thursday night just how much this blog is taking a toll on time I could be spending with my husband and kids (in the evenings). I have been fortunate to take opportunities and collaborations (with bloggers and brands) but while it’s my own fault I just feel like my family is getting the short end of the time pile at least these past few days and that makes me sad. I have companies reaching out to me like crazy and I have had to back away and either delete the messages, turn down or ignore them and only respond to those that I know are brands I have worked with and enjoyed in the past.
I need to re-learn to balance life and hopefully with a new start to this week I can get my life more organized (as Back-to-School tends to force us to change our habits and routines). My plans are to be more organized with my time, create a meal plan, and spend more quality time with my whole family in the evenings, even if that means the blog gets the short end of the pile for a bit. With that said there will be no post this coming Wednesday (I guest posted for another blogger but more to come on that).
The weather here is hot lately, but sadly summer feels like it’s coming to an end. Before the fall outfits and cooler weather I have a few more summery outfits to show off in the next few posts. Today’s look is one of them. I liked my off the shoulder dress this summer (see post here) and decided to try an off the shoulder overlay top, luckily I found this one on Sammy Dress for less than $20.
I LOVE the color of this top and how flattering the top looks on me. The shirt is a bit more tight around my midsection than I would have liked it too but I made it work I think by styling it with some mid-rise distressed denim flared jeans and my new heels from Sammy Dress (also styled here). I added several accessories to add a “cool element” notably in these gradual colored glasses that were also from Sammy Dress (for only $3), my JORD watch and other fun bangles and bracelets. This look is definitely falls under the go into fall transition.
I warned my husband a few days ahead about this cute outfit combination and needless to say the day I wore it he was in love. He liked the boho meets glammed look to it and probably labeled it at the top of his favorite outfit-on-me list. Believe me there is A LOT on that list (insert silly tongue out of mouth face).
I will share a few more summer outfit posts coming up but until then stay cool (if you have heat where you are) and enjoy the rest of summer weather while you can.
Have you tried the off the shoulder trend yet?
What outfits are you still holding on to, to take into fall?
