Mommy & Daughter Style: Faux Fur Vest with Plaid & link up

February 23, 2016

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today will be a short post as I am sitting in Starbucks where I have internet (and a yummy iced coffee). ย We lost power at our home for a day last week, and while the power came back on (thanks to the four power trucks crew) we lost our internet connection and we don’t expect to have a tech out to our home til tomorrow (POOH)! So there will not be a normal post tomorrow ๐Ÿ™

Anyway, how adorable is my little mini me? We decided to twin it to church a few Sundays back and we both quite enjoyed it. We decided to put some plaid and faux fur power together. Both of our vests come from Target, however her’s was a recent bargain that I am quite proud of.

I have had my eyes on little fur vests at Target for awhile now but couldn’t muster paying full price for them. So on a recent shopping trip alone without the kiddos I found this little beauty on the children’s clearance rack marked from $16 to $8. I texted my hubby and asked his permission to get it as we only had money budgeted for party stuff ย and for our seven year old but he gave me the ok. When I got to the check out the vest was actually $4.80. I did a happy dance, took a picture and sent it to my hubby with all kinds of happy emoji faces. Yes! I got my little princess something I had been dying to get her, and it was worth the wait.

The vest goes perfect with her little faux fur boots too.

My look is similar, but I am styling black ankle booties and a fun camisole underneath the plaid button up for a nice layered look as it was pretty chilly out. I may try this look again with buffalo plaid once I get my hands on some soon.

How do you layer plaid? ย Faux Fur vest?

I was about to say that it’s been a long time since Eve and I did anything remotely similar to this post of yours, Rachel, and then it hit me that we still are ๐Ÿ™‚ but it’s called Project Sister Act, a little initiative I came up with a year ago to advocate how women across all ages can and should wear whatever they please, that age-appropriate dressing is pish-posh, and that style is truly ageless. And here you are, with your daughter, proving just that in the loveliest, most endearing way xoxo

p/s I would really love for you to come join my very first link-up, Rachel, it’s in tandem with Project Sister Act, and it’s live now. I hope to see you ๐Ÿ™‚
