Welcome to the sixth How I Style It monthly link up party. I have the pleasure of hosting alongside several other bloggers to bring you this themed link up and as we have been advertising to you the theme this month is #fallingleavesfashion, where you will show us how you style fall colors of all types and with the fall season now here (hard to believe) there is a lot of mustard yellows, rusty red, marsala, olive greens, denim, black and brown with fall wear. Today I will show you how I styled using fall colors and then I hope you will link up any recent post containing how you style for fall using fall colors.
Today I styled a burgundy cardigan with grey and black tones as part of my fall color contribution. I added some leather like touches with the purse and booties as well to enhance the fall mood. I thought these colors went well to compliment the rainy weather that we had all week last week. Don’t worry my mind wasn’t gloom or grey but rather joyful and full of amusement.
My amusements while wearing this outfit include two things:
1). I felt like a librarian wearing it. My first part time job interview was to be a librarian assistant..didn’t get the job but I did get a job working in a Christian bookstore and then a teachers library in college so yeah a librarian reigns once again here.
2). Before shooting these photos we had a male and female couple pull up in their SUV next to us and ask us if we were there to see blah blah blah too and that they needed to meet with blah blah blah about a flooding issue, but my hubby and I think or assumed (based on the part of town it was) that they were meeting for “other” illegal issues (insert laugh) as they looked rough. They then proceeded to ask why we were there and my hubby pulled out the camera and said “my wife has a fashion blog and has to get outfit shots.” I didn’t quite catch their response but they got in their car and drove off. I was freaking out a bit, but a little embarrassed mixed with amusement. Now I can laugh about it.
I will be honest and say though that this look made me appear shorter and frumpier…but it is what it is and my hubby was a good sport to talk to strangers and photograph me in the rain (that stopped for a few moments to allow these photos, thank God).
What fall colors are you loving lately? Which ones are you wearing more of? What are your amusing outfit stories?
