Well, well well I am back with another black and olive look (see last weeks here). Today I am sharing with you the same olive jacket from last week but styled over a black maxi dress and my new suede fringed ankle booties.
I wear this dress weekly as it’s very comfortable but I have waited until now to share it on the blog. I wanted the weather to get cool enough for jacket weather to style the dress with this jacket. This whole look was actually inspired by my blogging friend Becky whom styled a very similar look here. As you can see from Becky’s picture the only thing I changed about this look from Becky’s is I traded sandals for these new bad boy Vaneli Jeroen taupe suede boots from Marmi.
These shoes are very cute and go with most of what I have. When I checked out these shoes I was glad to find width size choices and choose a wide and I am glad I did as these are very nice boots. These boots fit well with room to move my toes around in if needed and are such a pretty color. I am honored to wear these as my first boots for the season.
I wore this outfit to church and then to a “Stone Soup” gathering at my in-laws church. This is a fun tradition my in-laws like to have each year. Family and folks from their church come together bringing cans of vegetables to mix in a pot while the story “Stone Soup” is being read. This is special for the children as they get to be the “suppliers of food to put in the soup.” Each child gets a turn to stir the contents of the soup and whomever gets a big stone in their soup gets a dollar amount. This is a very fun activity that I hope we can continue with our kids even as they are grown up and have kids of their own.
What traditional activities do you do with your kids around this time? Have you ever made “Stone Soup”?
How would you style boots like the ones I am wearing?
*These boots were provided to me from Marmi in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and not that of Marmi. Thank you for supporting the brands that support my blog.
