Making goals come true & your opinions

It seems like forever since I made up goals for myself.  Goals or making plans force me to get things done.  It would anyone right? or should for that matter.  Well this post is a listing of things I know I need or want to do and I would appreciate your help/opinions/feedback as well for some of them.

Goals for this blog:

  • -be more consistent with what days I post and pick      certain topics designated for those days only.
  • -make the goal to visit at least two new blogging sites      a day and comment.
  • -I love to be inspired so I need to be on the lookout      daily for blog posts that grab my attention so that I can reference/credit      that post and blogger for my “Bloggers Who Inspire Me” series      and post a new series maybe once a month.
  • -Learn to be content with not getting a lot      of comments or visitors even though I comment on everyone I follow almost      daily.
  • -Maybe post a giveaway in the future?
  • -put recipes up- coming next (hopefully).

What are your thoughts? What do you like reading about on my blog or other bloggers? is it outfits? my faith? DIY’s? recipes? money saving tips? my family? thrifting?

Goals for my lack of cooking:

  • -learn to use my croc-pot and do some croc-pot recipes.      Any suggestions? Leave me a comment or e-mail me at Rachel.garay@me.com      with your favorite croc-pot recipe. Who knows your recipe may end up on my      next Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me (hint, hint, wink, wink, say no more).
  • -cook 2-4 meals a week. I love trying easy and cheap      recipes so if you got them share them. Comment below or e-mail.
  • learn to do scrambled eggs to where I won’t gag check I did a goal this morning. Got to  have one goal down right?

Goals for my family/relationships:

  • -Be forgiving and have grace. Realizing that just      because I don’t hear from certain friends or family members doesn’t mean      that they are mad at me but that life is in fact revolved around more than      just me. If there is actual issues pray to be forgiving or talk about it      with the person.
  • -make Nevaehs lunch for school sometimes. She keeps      begging for this and I keep telling her not today. (Mainly because we      don’t have sandwich bags or bags for the food for that matter- take care      of this, bite the bullet and just go buy baggies).
  • -make my hubby feel special and have open communication      often and think of his needs.

What do you like to do with your family? what makes them or a particular person feel special?

Goals for our house/needs:

  • mop the floor have hubby mop the floor.
  • organize the basement, moving things to storage/throw      away things.
  • buy foam tiles at Sams club for the playroom
  • get new roof on the house
  • get a new used van
  • re-grout the bathroom tile on the floor around the tub
  • finish DIY projects and get an Etsy account started to      sell the DIY projects.

Do you have an Etsy shop that I don’t know about?  Comment below with the link and I will be sure to check it out.  I love looking at other peoples etsy shops.  Even if I don’t have the money for your shop at hand I can recommend you or buy from you later- ahem Christmas.

    Lots going on with you! I’d say having some weekly posts have helped me a lot. I have What I Wore on Wednesday and High Five on Friday, so I only have 3 other posts to get up on the week. I take weekends off blogging for the most part. I think highlighting other bloggers is great. It’s a way to learn about new blogs, but I agree with your desire to cut it down to just a couple times a month. Maybe do Faith Fridays or something like that if you want to blog about faith regularly. On Pinterest I have a board called Blog Tips & on there I’ve pinned a few blog challenges that I go to when I need an idea or have writers block.

    Crockpot. Oh, I love ours. One of my go-to recipes is crockpot chicken tacos: frozen chicken breast, salsa & taco seasoning. Cook on low all day. That’s it. I use frozen chicken because I always have to let things cook from 7am – 5pm because of work, but you could use thawed/raw if you start it later. I also have a Pinterest board with other crockpot recipes.

    You have lots of goals. That is awesome!

    Those are all wonderful goals, and I think I need to borrow a few of them from you 🙂 I’m so glad I could help provide an easy recipe to help you on your way with cooking more! And also, did you know that you can make/buy reusable snack and sandwich bags? If you had those, then you’d really have no excuse not to make your daughter’s lunch every day because you’d always have bags around! (not to mention they save money & the environment) ^_^

      Hey girlie, I tried to email you back but you’re a no-reply blogger (just in case you didn’t realize). Not sure Walmart sells reusable bags, but I’ve seen them all over etsy. It’s so funny you saw my twin; one of my friends saw her as well 🙂 But I’ve never seen her – please snap a photo next time 😉

    I like your goals and have plenty of suggestions for easy breezy crock pot meals and they all start with chicken – lol. I need to read at least one or two new blogs per day, which means I need to find an extra hour to do so – lol. Hope you reach all of your goals on your timetable – enjoy the weekend.

    Hmm, crock pot…I often just make up recipes based on random ingredients I have at hope, which usually turns into some kind of soup. 😛

    Here’s some real recipes that I use. For a chicken/bean soup, I put chicken and onions in the slowcooker for a couple hours, pull apart the chicken when cooked, dump in 1 can of enchilada sauce, 1 can of cream of chicken soup, and a couple cans of either kidney, pinto, or black beans, whatever I have on hand, and a handful of shredded cheddar cheese, and cook until it’s all mixed together and hot. I usually top it with green onions and serve with tortilla chips.

    Or, for a traditional “Sunday dinner”–I cook a roast of beef in the crockpot with a packet dry french onion soup mix sprinkled on top. When it’s cooked I pull it apart in pieces and mix in a can of cream of mushroom soup. It ends up being a chunky, meaty gravy that’s delicious with potatoes!
