Kimono, Booties & a LBD

August 31, 2015

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? My weekends are becoming more relaxing and with this pre-fall weather I am just in heaven. Fall is my favorite season of the year, probably because of the changing of leaves, pumpkin spice lattes, leggings and jackets- ah! I can’t get enough.

With Fall springing in on me and fast I began doing an inventory of my closet and got discouraged when I thought to myself “I have nothing to wear for pre-fall or fall weather,” which I know isn’t true it’s just I need new ways to style what I have from last year for a fresh new look until I can get a few new fall items from my wishlist (wishlist: mules, black booties, more leggings, sweatshirts, striped skirts, denim pants, etc).

I was digging through an old basket of clothes that needed mending  and I found this dress (from this post). I had wondered where this dress had gone too as I had only worn it twice. Once I looked at it with other items in my closet inspiration striked, and a little voice said in me “Hey I can pair this dress with my grey ankle booties and kimono,” and viola the look turned out better than I imagined…in fact this is one of my husbands favorite outfits and outfit shots. I can’t help but wink in return, its just so simple yet perfect for pre-fall wear.

My hubby thought this outfit was rather “grungy” but he loved it.

This whole ordeal about thinking I had nothing to wear for fall, and changing my mindset to remixing and being creative with what I already have turned out to be pretty good if you ask me.

See relevant Bible verse: Hebrews 13:5- Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

I love this look! I had ankle boots on my list for fall too and just found some cute ones when I was at the outlet mall. But I realized when I looked in my closet I had way more leggings than I need these days! I had a couple years when I wore them nonstop, but the weather is warmer here than Roanoke, and way more than Ohio, which is where I bought most of the leggings. Good luck finding everything on your fall wishlist!

Your kimono and booties are gorgeous extras to Fall-ify that LBD. I need a couple of kimonos. Where do you suggest I look for them (for cheap)? LOL

I love the print on the kinono, definitely perfect for fall! It’s so funny that we here in Australia are happy about spring while the rest of the world is getting ready for fall 🙂

My new post involves cute animals and a floral dress, come have a look if you like!

Gorgeous look, Rachel! I love you in this kimono! It’s such an amazing, yet simple look. I’ve been loving this pre-fall weather, too! I love the summer, but my heart really belongs in the inbetweens- spring and fall. I don’t like extremes- I love my weather to be 75 and sunny, perfect!
