Christmas is coming up and gift shopping for my husband is the HARDEST. Gifts to him mean little but sometimes there are past gifts he can still recall that meant the world to him at the TIME (no pun intended) and most often these were watches. When he was a little boy he received a Tasmanian Devil character watch and wore it all the time. This past year he also received his first wood watch from JORD wood watches that he had been gifted during a very difficult time in our lives (read post here for the story). My husband has had nothing but good things to say about the watches he received in his life, especially his recent JORD watch from months ago.

Recently, I asked my husband what he wanted for Christmas and he told me he couldn’t think of anything. I jumbled between getting him more throwing knives or more small kitchen appliances, but then I thought of JORD.  I was pleased when I found out that JORD now offered personalized engraving on the back of the watches or on the boxes so I opted for personalized engraving on the back of the watch with his name in block lettering. The watch selected was this Frankie: Dark Sandalwood with a Smoke face. I loved how masculine and bold it was without being too complicated in the face. This was perfect for a Christmas gift.

The watch came quickly after ordering. The wooden box containing the watch smelled of foreign cedars and I was impressed by the pull out shelf that is at the bottom of the box for storage of the cleaning cloth or watch extenders, etc. I loved the watch so much I couldn’t wait to have my husband open it for Christmas so why not early? I had the idea of presenting the watch to my husband gift wrapped when my son Max had the idea to present the gift to my husband himself. I found some blue gift wrapping paper and my son and I got busy wrapping. When this past Sunday came around and we were getting ready for church I thought then was the perfect time to have Max give the wrapped watch to him.

Right away my husband beamed with excitement. He opened up the box, took the watch off it’s pillow and slipped  it on his left wrist. He noted how light weight it was and he noticed that it was not tight nor too loose on his wrist, but perfect fitting. He commented on the nice smell of cedars of the inside and outside of the box and was impressed with the engraving of his full name on the back face of the watch. He immediately made sure the time was set right on it and worked the dial on the side to be sure it was in good working condition (it was).

He thanked me for thinking of him and getting the watch and of course he shared some hugs and laughs with our son Max. He wore it to church and showed it off to our neighbors and friends receiving lots of compliments.

Thank you so much for featuring me! What a lovely gift. I bought my husband a watch a few years ago and within a year the strap had broken. We took it to several jewellers but no-one had the right size pin to fix it. Finally he it got fixed but now it needs a battery. He jokes that the watch has spent more time in the drawer that on his wrist!
