I am proud to announce that this is my husbands first blog post, written in his own words about a SWEET Valentine gift that you and your man would enjoy and about a hard week recently and a reprieve from the pain of loss. Ladies (and gentlemen) please meet my guest poster, Chantry (my hubby).
My wife got my JORD Fieldcrest Green wooden watch for me for a valentine’s day gift, it came a week early but it came just in time. My grandfather died two Mondays before valentine’s day week, the watch arrived that Tuesday. It came just at the right time. I was very close to my grandfather; he was a good man with a big heart. I was devastated when I received news of his death and desperately needed a distraction to take my mind off the heart ache. My watch came the next morning with the mail. I opened it only a little excited because of the other things going on.
Opening the cardboard box and finding the elegant wooden box inside made it almost seem like opening a Christmas present. Then I slid the top off to find this quite handsome watch inside. I am not a big jewelry wearer. I wear a watch very seldom but on a rare occasion I do mainly for aesthetics, mainly because most watches are heavy. This is not the case with my JORD wooden watch as it is incredibly light weight and fits comfortably.
The death of my grandfather gave me the privilege of spending a lot of time with my family… and an opportunity to show off my new watch, it was a good distraction for everyone at least for a few minutes. Everyone liked how handsome it looked and it got a lot of jealous googly eyes. Not only did everyone like the way it looked but also the weight of it and the unique clasp. My cousin liked the weight of it, he said “most watches feel like you’re wearing hardware but this one did not.” By any way it came the reprieve from the pain even if momentary was nice for my family and I. It was also fun showing off the gift my wife Rachel had gotten for me. In a hard time, it made me feel loved.
Other very nice things about the watch include; it does not pull my arm hair vs. every other watch I have had does, it’s color and wood design goes with almost every clothing combination, it fits like it was perfectly tailored for me and I actually like wearing it. As aforementioned I normally only wear a watch for looks and that is normally only for special occasions such as an interview, but I like my JORD watch so much that I wear it often. The only time I don’t wear it is when I am going into harsh environments such as work. The negatives of this beautiful watch are few but it would be unfair to the reader to not include them; as far as I can tell it is not water proof and being a man that worries me a little and at first it seemed to fit slightly more snug than I was use too probably because it was tailored not just bought off the shelf in a store. That is the only two things that I don’t like about the watch and I have come to like the snug fit.
Overall I love my JORD wooden watch. It is the best watch I have ever owned and I wear it a lot not just because of looks for important occasions. I wear it whenever I leave the house and I am not going to somewhere harsh such as work. It has been a great valentine’s day gift that came in just the right time. To all you ladies reading my wife’s blog this is Chantry, Rachel’s husband and I have written this review with complete honesty. A Jord watch is a great gift for any man in your life.
