How to Dress up a Plain Outfit

August 16, 2016

how-to-style-a-plain-outfit

Ladies, this is my mom uniform in all it’s glory. I have four kids (all under 7) and I NEED comfortable clothes.  I realize there is nothing fancy about this outfit and it is rather plain.  Adding accessories to any plain look gives the outfit some pizzazz and makes me (and hopefully you) feel more confident when I go out and about with the four munchkins.

The particular accessories for this look include an “X” statement ring I received from Rocksbox a year ago, and this lovely statement necklace I received courtesy of D.Monaco Designs. This necklace is one of a kind and is actually one of the most intriguing necklaces hanging from my necklace boards. The tassels to the stones in and out are just a marvel and I was sad to see that this particular item was no longer on the website. It is light to wear and the stones in the middle actually move slightly when you touch them as they are supported with wire that is attached to the frame. This is definitely a fun necklace. Oh, and did I mention it has tassels? This makes for the perfect fidget accessory ladies.

With the summer coming to an end I feel like my mood for wearing color has exploded as Fall entails more earthy tones to neutrals and little color.  I am soaking it up while I can.  With that, this maxi skirt is the perfect example of wearing color while I can before the skirt and colors start retiring for a new season.

What piece of jewelry makes you marvel?

What pieces do you add to your clothes to give an outfit some pizzazz?

Jewelry and bold color def makes an outfit pop. Your necklace is so intricate in detail and interesting to look at. I wish I can wear fashion jewelries more often, but I am allergic to non-precious metals which is why you only see me wearing the same necklace, bracelet and earrings in every outfit…lol Have a wonderful week Rachel!

In fact, I like plain outfit, because plain outfit is fun outfit. You can play with it as much as your fantasy and creativity allow you. You can add nice necklace like you did. Or a few necklaces, a bracelet, a ring, a scarf, a vest,…………. etc. And it will be always something new. Thank you very much for featuring my outfit. You made my day!

I love the color of your skirt! Such a cute mom outfit! This is very much how I dress in my daily mom life, too. And once you add an interesting necklace (or a scarf), you have elevated basic to fabulous! I would love to meet some of you wonderful blogger friends, too, but alas, I live in the remotest area of upstate New York and have not found any fellow bloggers nearby! Perhaps someday…
