How I style It link up: Plaid

November 11, 2015

Happy Veterans day! Today my family and I will enjoy the perks of my hubby being a veteran and take advantage of free food (for him) and restaurant discounts for the family members. Thank you everyone for your kind words of encouragement to my husband from Monday’s post as I believe it really did encourage him even if he wasn’t proud of his past Army career.

My husband and I had a date recently that consisted of “Christmas shopping” for our kids but before shopping we made a trip to Starbucks for our very first Pumpkin Spice latte this season. In fact we rarely ever get lattes but every year it has become a tradition to get a latte and Christmas shop. I don’t know why this is but perhaps it has something to do with the fun and joy of shopping and sipping a delicious latte, and our lattes didn’t disappoint.  And we got a lot of our kids gifts (still need one more per child).

What better way to shop and enjoy lattes than to dress in all black, comfortable flats and a plaid blanket scarf to complete the look. Looking at the pictures i admit I could have done something different to style the scarf. Sorry for the poor photo quality but it is what it is and it was getting dark out (we shot the photos at a local park near Starbucks).

Plaid is all the rage and sadly I don’t own much of it but I am happy today to be part of another “How I Style It” link up with my blogging buddies as we show you how to style plaid for the fall. Obviously you can see I used plaid from my scarf that I received last year and so it was a joy to dig it out of my closet and style it for you once more. I love this comfortable sweater with plaid look.

How do you style plaid for fall? for winter?

I think your scarf looks great just the way it is! And your shoes are a nice tie-in touch. I still need to do most of Kane’s Christmas shopping, but we don’t go overboard, so I don’t feel too intimidated.

I have been wanting to get a plaid scarf in some non-traditional colors (other then black & red or red, green and tan!). I love the blue and green colors of your scarf and all black looks great under it. I haven’t started Christmas shopping yet, I just got done with Autumn’s birthday shopping! Whew! That #PSL looks good!
