This past week and weekend was full with Christmas festivities. My family and I viewed Christmas lights on a particular farm that hosts 500,000 lights each year and we visited our local hotel that hosts Christmas trees decorated by community organizations. Let’s not forget lots of visits with Santa and parades. There hasn’t been a dull moment for sure and it is VERY exciting and magical. In the midst of it all I am reminding myself to remember the real reason for Christmas and while all the lights, parades are fun they are also temporal. Christ coming into our world as a baby to live among us is just baffling and amazing at the same time. His birth and life of ministry as well as his death for our sins is what tops it all and remains the true meaning of Christmas to me.
One night recently I got a break from Christmas festivities to see one of my best friends of 18 years and this particular night called for dressing cute but comfortable enough for coffee. We ended up getting munchkins at Dunkin Donuts and sat for several hours reminiscing the past and discussing the present. The amazing thing with this friend includes picking up from where we left off as if we see each other weekly. I choose to wear these new jeggings I got from Target, along with my favorite kimono and basic tee. I also decided to try these new 5mm pearl and diamond earrings from Pearl & Clasp to try dressing down pearls for once. I normally think of pearls as an elegant piece of jewelry to dress up a look; however for once I liked dressing these pearls down. I thought the small size of them was perfect for this dressed up casual look. What do you think?
My friend and I of course shared lots of laughs, and joys from the past. If there is one thing I couldn’t be without among the daily ins and outs of parenting it’s a good friend or friends to see for a girls night out as it really does do the heart good.
What do you wear your pearls with?
What do you wear on a girls night out and where do you like to go?
