Uniformed & Link up

March 29, 2016

What do you wear that makes you feel confident? I know I covered this before  but I will say it again and that is layers and a good pair of shoes for me.  I have invested in more shoes and layering pieces than anything else this new year  because I have learned the power of changing up shoes or adding a vest or cardigan etc., to make for a more put together look. Shoes can take one outfit from casual to dressed up in a second.

The above look includes a uniformed look that screams me. I love a good pair of flats and these are right on point (get it). The confidence these shoes evoke though are amazing and you can count on seeing more of them on the blog.

What is your uniformed look? What screams you and why?

  • There will be no post tomorrow, but I will be co-hosting with Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood and her link up this Thursday so check back then to see what we are styling. See you then!

I found this Top 10 Spring Trends post to be right on point as magazines tell us one thing but don’t seem to be in alignment with what I see in the blogging world. So I appreciate Elle putting together this post.

I tried a black and white combo similar to this one from Adri but need to revisit it thanks to my new lace up shoes. Think of it as I need to do a pin it did it outfit kind of inspiration.

I just adored reading and learning about all the different kinds of workouts that can be done with your infant or toddler as shown by the lovely ladies of Pumpsandpushups.com Brooke and Erica.  These are quite amusing but look fun!

I liked this 2 ways to wear white culottes post and I think you will gather some ideas yourself.

Lastly, this wreath DIY transformation was fun to read and seems very simple to do too. This post is very helpful if you are looking for ways to easily change a wreaths decor without removing it from a wall or door.

I love how easy it is for shoes to change a look, too! I’m a big fan of taking dressier looks and throwing on toms or keds to make it seem a bit more casual. It makes me ready to tackle the day! (Or at least the kids in the classroom:))

Certain styles always seem to appeal to us more, never mind the current trends. And it’s good: I also gravitate towards outfits that make me feel both comfortable and confident and that work with my lifestye. And I totally agree with you on flats!

  • Debbie Stinedurf March 29, 2016 at 5:44 am

I’m so loving lace up flats right now…I might be a little obsessed…lol! And for me, an outfit without layers feels like it’s missing something so of course I love this outfit. The chambray over top makes all the difference.

I’m right there with you that layers & shoes make an outfit!! Especially the shoes. Intellectually, I realize they are only about 10% of your outfit in area proportions, but the impact can make such a huge difference!!

If I’ve got a great pair of shoes on, I know I’ll have a spring in my step and will stand taller and feel more confident so I agree with you about the shoes! Knowing what works for your style personality and body shape is always better than blindly following trends, unless you happen to like a trend.
Those shoes are great with the jeans and they’re versatile as they’ll look fabulous with skirts and dresses too!

  • Darcy March 30, 2016 at 9:54 am
