Cranberry lips, A Gingham top + linkup

August 30, 2016

After yesterdays post you might find today’s short as I figure out how to balance blogging and family a bit better. I don’t know what that looks like yet. Do I cut back or take a few days break sometime?  I love this space of mine and am not going anywhere but I just need to re-prioritize, if you know what I mean.

I wore this outfit to church yesterday and found it quite comfortable (minus the heat).  I think this red and white gingham cold shoulder top is just the cutest and it comes from an online shop called Sammy Dress. The top is the perfect size and fits me comfortably.  I dressed it up with my white skinny jeans and a pair of sandaled heels that I also fell in love with from Sammy Dress. These heels are the perfect color and height and are so versatile. I can’t wait to style them in the future with dresses, leggings, shorts, skirts and the list goes on.

The highlight of the outfit includes my new lipstick, Cranberry and glossy gloss from Lipsense. Recently I began a new business venture (above the craziness, silly me) that I am excited to have taken on.  Ladies, this lipstick is kiss proof, smudge proof and altogether amazing and it lasts for up to 18 hours without smearing and smudging.  Look for a post on why I love Lipsense coming up. Until then let me know if you need more information on the lipstick or get a chance to earn free color lipstick yourself by learning more when you join my Facebook group here or by e-mailing me at or I can e-mail you more info if you leave your e-mail in the comments below. Thanks!

Have you tried Lipsense lipstick and glosses before?

  • Shelbee on the Edge August 30, 2016 at 8:45 am

Rachel, first I want to thank you for the feature today! What a wonderful surprise to start off my day!

I am loving the red gingham and that cold shoulder style is more my speed than the completely off the shoulder style. And the shoes and bag are absolutely gorgeous!

I hear you on balancing family and blogging. It is a difficult task indeed! I love blogging and reading others’ blogs, but the family demands do need to take priority, too. I think we all just find our way the best we can! But our families need to understand also that a happy mommy means a happy home! And an unhappy and stressed out mommy means everyone is miserable!

  • Shea August 30, 2016 at 8:46 am

I hear you, it is SO hard to find balance. This past year I cut back from blogging 5 days a week to 3, and that has helped me. I don’t think I could go back to 5 now. Although I fear I may struggle with 3 days once baby #2 is born, so I admire your dedication with having more than that. You’ll figure out what works for you, and remember that we support you and understand that life is busy! Love this cute look 🙂

  • Amy Arnold August 30, 2016 at 8:49 am

So cute!!! Love that top and the red and white combo.

What a gorgeous top on you! I’m loving the red lip with it as well. I can totally understand trying to fit blogging in to your lifestyle with a family to take care of as well. It can be very TOUGH. However, I believe you have to do what feels right for you. If that means dialing back on your posts, so be it. I will still be here to see what you have to share. Thanks for sharing your world and hosting the link up as well. Have a blessed week my friend 🙂

Finding the right balance isn’t always easy, but I’ve found that what really helps is to take some blogging breaks to refresh and recharge.

As for this fabulous look that your totally rocking today, I love everything about it! The red and white gingham top paired with your white denim looks amazing on you! Perfect end-of-summer look!

Man, I feel the work-life-blog balance struggle and I don’t even have kids yet! I can’t even imagine! I think it is totally okay to take a breather sometimes – even though we think the world will end when we miss a post, a well organized and refreshed mind can go a long way.
I ADORE this blouse on you, and you styled it perfectly with the cranberry lip! Congrats on your new business venture!
