How I Style It link up: Chambray

September 2, 2015

Welcome to the fifth How I Style It monthly link up party. I have the pleasure of hosting alongside several other bloggers to bring you this themed link up and as we have been advertising to you the theme this month is #chambrayeverywhere, where you will show us how you style chambray of all types (shirts, shorts, dresses, rompers, etc), and with the fall season now here (hard to believe) there is the art of layering chambray with fall wear. Today I will show you how I styled my chambray and then I hope you will link up any recent post containing how you styled your chambray.

If you come to my blog often you will notice that chambray is featured almost every other week, that is how much I adore this chambray button down. In fact I did a whole post on how to style chambray for spring and summer. I can’t wait to indulge in some chambray dresses and even more shirts as the time passes and I find some at good deals and in my sizing.

Today i styled my chambray top over pattern mixes (as I did here as well) only this time the chambray was worn as intended to, as a cover up and just styled unbutton. The weather was so humid this day so I will admit it didn’t stay on long. But I loved the patterns I mixed together underneath it.

I boldly mixed a tribal print mini dress with leopard print heels and while I am not sure if you can tell but my flats and new mini crossbody bag have the same leopard prints both in color and in metallic like shine.

Add on some accessories like my wood watch from JORD and “When in Rome” bracelet from My Arm Charms and I had a look. I was quite proud of this pattern mix as it left me feeling confident, creative and cute. My hubby thought I did an excellent job pulling off this pattern mix too and normally he is not one to like pattern mixing, so I know I did well.

Let’s talk about this leopard print mini cross bag! I got it from an online site called I purchased it recently after having a positive shopping experience buying this bag months ago. All I have to say is good things about ifchic and I frequent this site everyday because it allows me to search the site for 3 coins daily, and each coin is worth $2, so daily I collect $6 and this is added to my account. Then on ifchic24 or the 24th of each month I can use the coins I accumulated to shop for clothing, shoes or purses, but since I have been needing more purses this is the way to go and this very purse was free with my coins. All I had to pay was shipping and handling, and it’s just a darling bag, very ideal to have when out and about with the kids versus toting around a tote bag. You should definitely try this site out. This is not a sponsored post I just love this site.

Loving how your layered the chambray on top of a dress. I am always looking for layering options, especially for work or when it gets colder out. I love the print on this dress and the shape is absolutely gorgeous on you! Also, that bag is awesome. I have tried if chic but totally forgot to pick a prize on the 24th. :/

I too love me a good chambray shirt or dress. Or shirt dress. Not sure about pants, I’ve not tried any yet. I also like the bold print of your dress. If I style chambray sometime soon, I’ll make sure to link up, right now I’d only have old posts.

    Have a wonderful week+end Rachel 🙂

I LOVE using chambray to change up virtually every outfit. It makes such a difference, even in your outfit above just the addition of the unbuttoned top with the dress versus without it. One of my favorite tricks is to tie up a men’s polo with a chambray top, totally unexpected and creates a neat double collar. Check it out in my post below to see what I mean!
