Welcome to another Budget Babes Friday where Ada, Maria and I style for under $75 (hence Budget Babes). Every Friday for the past few weeks we have been styling outfits with a theme that goes along with the trends of spring but we are going to show you how you don’t have to break the bank doing so. Today’s theme is styling trendy spring floral dresses. If you missed last Fridays black and white theme then you can check that out here. Before that we styled spring bags here, loafers the week before that here and the pastels theme here.
I love how all of us choose to wear a statement necklace with our floral dresses and while Ada has a peplum like top and matching skirt, Maria and I choose to cover up with an added chambray or a belted cardigan. I just love the chic and springy looks of us all.
I love a good dress in the spring and summer time and many of my dresses are actually of one solid color or contain floral patterns in some way and this dress was just one of those I have worn often and in many different ways see here for one way.
I don’t get to wear this dress often as I feel the colors are very bright and bold but I felt like adding a chambray top down played the brightness a bit. I decided to snap a few buttons in the middle of the chambray and tie off the bottom as well as roll up the long sleeves and snap these to the snaps at the quarter length part of the top.
This is the first time I have styled this necklace I recently scored on clearance at Wal-mart. I am not a Wal-mart fan but I happened to get this for $3 I believe so I figured why not. However, do you ever get something because it is a good deal and then your mind goes blank on what to do with it? Buying this necklace was one of those instances so I am glad I thought to incorporate this into an outfit. I feel the necklace compliments the pink, and orange hues of the dress.
I couldn’t forget to tie in my favorite colored shoes to compliment the blue in the dress to make a statement:
