Happy Friday, the weekend is almost here (hallelujah). What do you have planned? I am not too sure, but I hope it is relaxing and not hectic that is for sure. Anyway, on to todays post topic: Budget Babes. Last summer I loved reading a series called Budget Babes (featured by Ada and Maria) on how to plan trendy summer related outfits for $75 or under with each week involving a theme. I was excited when Ada and Maria reached out to me to be a part in this with them for spring trends. So for the next 6 weeks on Fridays we will show you how we styled a trendy spring item and how we kept it under $75. Today’s spring trend is PASTELS.
I will be honest with you and say this is the same top I wore on Easter Sunday and for my last outfit post (here). These photos were actually taken after my easter outfit photo shoots however I just changed the pants, shoes and jewelry up a bit and added a hat. I liked the ease of dressing this top up and down on Sunday so I will reveal pictures of both looks at the end.
This shirt contains not only black dots but pastel purples, pinks and yellows. I then threw on these pink pastel pants to bring the colors of the shirt together. Looking at the photos I am a little sad that the pants turned out white, but believe me they are pink.
I revealed to you here that I am a fanatic for hats in the spring time so of course I had to throw in a hat with this outfit, and what person doesn’t enjoy flip flops?
Because this is a part of Budget Babes, and because I am committed to staying under $75 here I will break down the cost of the items I am wearing for you and where I bought them:
Pants-Mossimo brand, $5 at Plato’s Closet//Shirt- Liz Claiborne brand, $5 at JC Penny// Flip Flops: Union Bay Brand, $7 at Marshall’s//Hat- $8 at Wal-mart//Tassel Necklace- $3 at Wal-mart.
So the total paid for this whole outfit was $28. You can’t beat that for under $75.
Now take a look at how else I styled this shirt and check out Ada and Maria’s looks and how they styled pastels below:
I am loving how weekend casual Maria’s outfit is from the pastel pink ankle cropped pants, to pastel graphic tee. I love how the denim from the TOMS looking shoes on her feet to the un-buttoned chambray tie the look together. You can check out Maria’s outfit and outfit budget here.
I also love Ada’s pastel colors. The light pastel blues are just gorgeous with added complimentary blues in the necklace and shoes to add a pop. This outfit is also perfect for weekend casual. You can read up on Ada’s here.
How do you style Pastels in the spring time?
