I tease my husband often about how I have another lover in life. He understands that the other lover is either God, my sons, coffee or my dog. While God is a HUGE part of my life and the greatest lover of them all I think my hubby understands what I mean ( insert wink face) and you are looking at him. You have seen my dog a few times on the blog, but I have never styled my outfits around him until today.
Frank was given to us over a year ago from a friend of my husbands and we have felt blessed ever since; as we debated on having a dog for years. If you didn’t know already he is a Boston Terrier and is the most friendly dog. I love his playful, fun-loving personality and he takes care of us more than he knows it. Today Frank was my inspiration for black and white.
I was impressed with this gingham top from an online boutique called Sammy Dress. I was skeptical about Sammy Dress a year ago but then started seeing and hearing from other bloggers how much they preferred Sammy Dress over some other overseas brands. I was impressed by how much this top looked on me and that it looked a lot like the one pictured on the actual site. There is a button on the middle of each sleeve to allow for the hem of the sleeve to be buttoned up more towards the top, but I choose not to do this for these photos. One thing to note is this shirt looks like a maternity one on me, but that didn’t bother me as I liked the flow to it.
While I thought about what to pair with this shirt I must have tried several bottoms of pants before finding these black pair. When I paired these together I pulled in my old fedora hat, gold accessories, my Kendra Scott Rayne necklace and finally my new white wedge shoes from Sammy Dress as well.
These shoes fit well and didn’t hurt my feet for the afternoon errands. I actually worried that the wedge shoes would have a higher backing and be uncomfortable when I saw them online, but I thought they were worth a try. I will note that when I received the box there was a weird plastic smell to them. I am still trying to figure out how to get the plastic smell out but otherwise I have no complaints about the build or color of the shoes.
My husband actually liked the outfit and LOVED my idea of including Frank in these photos. Frank was an awesome model, inspiration and companion, making this photo shoot memorable.
