5 ways to Dress up your Valentines date look

February 10, 2016

There’s been a pattern since last Wednesday on this blog space and that has been hearts, red, pink and gifts and all things mentioning Valentines and today is just another post celebrating it but in a way that will combat your “How to dress for Valentines?” fears or struggles.

For me it took looking back at this style post of Valentines and pulling one item from it and remixing it for this year…just in time for Valentines BUT to also show you some items I feel are important for dressing up for a good date with your Valentine!

Let’s dive in.

5 ways to dress up your Valentines date look:

1). Add some red or pops of red. Red is a very romantic and almost powerful color, in fact I think the very color red shows confidence when worn in the right shade. So add it! It’s the perfect in-love color for this holiday! If you don’t feel confident or feel you look good in red, then have a monochromatic look and add pops of it, such as in your lip color, nails, brooch, or bag, etc.

2). Wear some jewelry that you love or that makes you feel AWESOME, because YOU are and your date thinks you are too. Or at least they should right?! It can be your most expensive jewels, pearls or diamonds or just your lucky Kenda Scott! Jewelry is a girls best friend after all.

These lovely Steve Maddens came just in time from ThredUp to make my Valentine date look sex-i-fied! *Get a free gift card to apply to your order here when you sign up for the first time.

4). Add in a handbag, clutch or wallet as an extra accessory to balance out the look and so that you have all that you need for emergencies while out with your date (i.e. money, make-up, perfume, mints, lent or hair roller, etc) all you need to carry on for a good date night.

5). Add layers for warmth, such as a vest, jacket, cardigan or blazer. Sometimes the places you go out to can get chilly and February weather can sometimes be so unpredictable.

Now for some goof ball-not so serious shots to enjoy as I REALLY enjoyed this photo shoot!
