3 Reasons to Take Your Girls to Get their Nails Done

At least once a month I try to make some “just the girls” dates with my two little ladies. We have gone and shopped at Target, our local mall and on one special occasion recently I took the girls to get their nails done. It was my little Elizabeth’s first time getting her nails done in a salon and she really enjoyed it. I thought I would share with you three reasons why you should take your girls (or nieces or goddaughters etc, if you don’t have kids yet) to get their nails done.

1).Worth the Money (but you can save as well)

It was worth spending money on my girls and let them experience “getting their nails done” by someone else other than mom. I also believe in being smart about it and saving money while doing so. One way to save money is to use Groupon to see what salons in the area have coupons and specials going on for FREE. You can search for whatever you want and see what deals are in your area. I have used Groupon for stores in the mall but have discovered that it has Health Beauty and Wellness Groupons as well for deals on hair and nail salons and even spas.

2).Professional Nail Education (other than from mom)

On our visit the lovely salon assistant was good about educating the girls on how to take care of their nails (i.e. not to bite them, filing them etc.,).

3). It is fun and something different

The girls were given their choice of candy and so lollipops was their choice. The salon assistant allowed them to choose their colors and gave Nevaeh (my oldest) polka dots. It was fun watching all the tools she used as well as the process of painting on polka dots. The time for each of the girls was 15-20 minutes each. Both girls enjoyed being pampered and I felt it was way worth it to let them experience this.

Have you taken your girls to get their nails done? If so, share your experience.

This is so sweet, Rachel πŸ™‚ Eve and I used to go for hair washes together at the salon. It’d be our weekly date. We would have a wash and scalp massage, and then she got to choose where we’d have lunch (usually something to go that she’d munch whilst sitting on those huge things with music that you insert coins to make them move). Nails wasn’t something she liked so we didn’t do that but I say anything that allows you to have a date with your child is precious xoxo

So cute and I agree. I use to take my little sis to get her nails done a lot when she was little. Great bonding time and like you said, they can learn how to treat their nails too. That’s always important! πŸ˜‰
