Today I am honored to introduce to you my new found blogging buddy and hopefully future graphic designer for this here little space, Haley of Stylish Muse. She is a fashion blogger that I love to watch blossom and make her graphic design business and love for the Lord and new hubby grew. I can’t wait for you to read what she has to offer as far as fashion tips that she follows and how you can better get to know her.
Hey Garay Treasures readers! I’m Haley and blog over at Stylish Muse, which is a fashion + lifestyle blog as well! I have been following Rachel’s blog for almost a year now and I am so excited to meet some of her readers. Please stop by so we can connect, just make sure to comment on one of my posts with your link so I can go visit your blog! I love meeting + following new bloggers.
Fashion to me is finding little treasures at thrift stores that you can’t take your eyeballs off of. I wanted to share three fashion “rules” that I tend to live by when choosing my outfits. I believe the main rule of fashion is to never stop creating your own unique rules. Every one has such an incredible style that says something about their personality, which is one of my favorite things about styling!
1. Break out of your pattern comfort zone.
Okay so be a little crazy. Don’t just wear stripes, wear dots and stripes. Think about all the different patterns that may mix well and then go with it! The best way to find out which patterns go together is having a pile of patterned clothing to the right of you and a mirror in front of you. Go crazy and play model for half an hour, learning about how to wear the clothes that are already in your closet even better.
2. Sometimes not following the rules is totally okay
Oops. I wore white after labor day. Twice. But hey I wanted to wear white and so I did it and I got tons of compliments. Just because there is a rule doesn’t mean you have to follow it in the fashion world. I have plenty of friends that refuse to wear white religiously after the first week of September but I simply decide to wear whatever I want, white or not.
3. Adding bold pops of color throughout your outfits is something fun and exciting.
These shoes are my favorite because what a fantastic way to include that bold pop that I want. Surprisingly, they are super comfortable and I only got them for $2 at Goodwill (obsessed with that place).
It is so nice to meet you and don’t forget to stop by Stylish Muse so that we can connect! I’m so excited that I get to co-host with Rachel this week and dip my toes in the “link-up world” before I have my own link-up that I am hosting with another fashion blogger. If you want in on our first link-up just send me your name and email at firstname.lastname@example.org 🙂 Don’t want anyone to miss out!

Now on to the featured five from last week and link up:
I loved reading Monica’s recent ghost stories and most recent and linked up about the Asylum “Greystone” in NJ. Some spooky and sad stuff there (as well as a cute outfit post) so check it out here if you are looking for some ghost stories.
Speaking of Halloween and ghosts, check out Jill’s home decor and home tour for the fall and Halloween here.
I fell in love with Adri’s boho dress and smile, check out the post here.
I love seeing striped dresses and how they are styled for the fall. Dana linked up a great example. How lovely is that plaid scarf?
I love Ashleigh’s confidence as she does her photos with tripod and remote and in public on a regular basis. I have personally tried this and feel so awkward or gotten weird stares. Ashleigh has on a cute dressed down casual look as well that I love (blue fan here).
