$10 Buys at Target: A budget for fun

November 23, 2015

Happy Monday, and boy is it good to be back, even if just for one post this week since it’s Thanksgiving week and busy I won’t post again til next Monday and Tuesday. Join me next week as I start a new blogging schedule.

Today I have joined my good friend Becky and a few other bloggers for a blog hop where we buy “fun” or “splurge” items at Target with a budget of $10 for the month of November. This does not include Starbucks, groceries needed or meals but rather items we consider fun or perhaps had on our wishlists.

Before I show you what I purchased I must convey a few things. First of all, everything I bought here I actually needed (but in a fun, cheap way).  Secondly I did not save the receipts or take photos of the receipts so you will just have to trust me that the products are the price that they are. Finally I accumulated these goods over a period of three trips- I love Target that much so I didn’t buy these items all together.

Ready to see what I bought?

First of all I got this pen and pencil set from the $1 bins at Targets $1 and $3 Hot Spot (I really needed pens for my purse and the pencils are a need for myself and my school aged little girl) so win win. I love their festive holiday print. These two items were $1 each.

Next I got two coffee tumblers since the ones my hubby and I had for years finally broke or got misplaced somewhere so these coffee tumblers were found in the $3 Hot Spot bins and were $3 each so $6 for two.

Finally I got these E.L.F make up products. The eyeshadow was $1 and the eyeliner pencil $1 from an end cap hidden near the back of the store. Now I am not a make up kind of girl, but when I find a deal I snag up. I have only worn the make up twice now and so far so good.

So there you have it $10 (I didn’t figure in tax) spent at Target over the course of November on fun items.

What would you spend $10 on at Target?

Join my friends below as they share their finds for $10 or  under at Target. I hope you have a fun and safe Thanksgiving.  There will be no “Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me” link up tomorrow as this will resume next Tuesday, December 1st with last Tuesdays featured five so see you next Monday and Tuesday for the link up.

Now we’re talking…Target (pronounced in faux French as “Targee” with a long “a” at the end–ha!) is one of my favorite places to browse, and I usually walk out of there, having purchased lots more than I planned. Hope you and yours have a lovely Thanksgiving!

  • Johanna November 24, 2015 at 5:15 pm

I have those pencils…use ’em everyday!

  • Ada November 25, 2015 at 11:14 am

What a cute idea. I want to do one of these types of posts myself. You did so well and got great deal on everything, especially the coffee Tumblers. The pens and pencils are so cute – I need them. Target’s 1$ and 3$ bins suck me in all the time. Are those makeup pieces from Elf decent?

Thank you for your comments on my latest posts. I am glad you liked my swap with Carrie.

Wishing you and your beautiful family a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving, Rachel!

What a fun challenege! I think getting out of Target for under $50 is incredibly impressive, so $10 is really great haha!

  • Donna @ Soul Survival November 25, 2015 at 2:15 pm

Great finds! My daughters and granddaughters are so good at finding treasure and great buys, whether at secondhand stores, Target or other places. I learn a lot for them. Thanks for sharing and happy Thanksgiving! BTW visiting from Grammie Time.
